The architectural intern at HFA, Ft. Worth will work with REVIT, AutoCAD and other design and rendering software for the design of retail, commercial and industrial buildings from design development though construction document (CD) creation and completion.

You will coordinate directly with in-house disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire Protection and other engineers. You’ll be utilizing your talents for problem-solving, finding & understanding problems and finding solutions. The remainder of your time consists of visiting new construction sites and existing buildings to document site conditions for remodel and tenant improvement projects. Our Ft. Technical Support Designer

 Acme Brick Company is looking for a qualified candidate to staff the technical support department of its exterior cladding products division. The company has for 125 years brought quality manufactured brick and other materials to the building market. It has recently added large size format, thin terracotta and stone rainscreen panels to its product line up. A talented individual with an architectural training background is being sought to help design panel system applications and provide other support as needed for the cladding division.

Position Responsibilities

  • Research and document proposed system application compliance with applicable project specifications, technical requirements, and codes and regulations
  • Prepare preliminary system design drawings, details, and when necessary other presentation materials for proposed applications
  • Produce system component estimates on projects for bid quotations and detailed component take offs for project material delivery preparation

Available Position: Senior Project Coordinator with a minimum 6-8+ years of experience.  We have the following expectations and requirements of the prospective hire: A degree from an accredited university (B.S. acceptable, B.Arch or M.Arch preferred), active pursuit of registration, a working knowledge of typical commercial and multi-family building types (including mixed-use), materials, systems and technical detailing, experience in all design/construction phases, experience in coordination of consultant engineering work required (civil, structural, MEP), working knowledge of specification writing and editing required, AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop (ADT) Sketch-Up and Revit proficiency required. Ability to manage less senior staff.  Participates in client contact and business development. Responsible for assisting in meeting project schedules and budgets across all design/construction phases. Excellent organizational and time management skills for multiple project assignments and considerable autonomy. Excellent written and verbal skills. Working knowledge of standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required.
