 Susan Arledge Named as Topping Out 2016  Master of Ceremonies

Susan Arledge, SIOR, focuses her efforts on providing tenant focused real estate brokerage and site selection services for clients locally, nationally and globally. She Is Managing Director of E Smith Realty Partners and leads E Smith’s Global Site Selection team. A recognized author and frequent speaker on the skills required for site selection, incentive negotiations and tenant representation, Susan was recognized by D CEO Magazine as the ‘Most Read Contributing Editor’ for her real estate blog entries.  Prior to the taking the helm at E Smith Realty, Susan was the Managing Principal of Cresa Dallas and was also a Senior Vice President with The Staubach Company where she earned the distinction of being the Company’s Top Producer and a Top Five Producer.  Ms. Arledge’s professional honors include D CEO “Dallas 500” for 2016 – Named one of D-FW’s 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders by D CEO Magazine and the Recipient of the 2012 Stemmons Service Award among many others.

 This year’s Topping Out Honorary Chair is Jack Matthews, CEO of Matthews Southwest, best known for leading the development of such projects as the Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel, South Side on Lamar and the North Dallas High School.  Mr. Matthews will join the Topping Out co-chairs in the awards celebration for the TOP TEN Projects and the M/WBE Community Impact Award Recipient. A Topping Out Visionary Award will be given to an individual that has been instrumental in the development of a number of transformational projects in DFW.

3.  Help raise funds to educate our future leaders as well as grow and prepare necessary talent for the A/E/C and allied fields.  Proceeds from Topping Out benefit the Architecture Chapter of the University of Texas at Arlington Alumni Association, a non-profit, to fund UTA College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA) student scholarships & initiatives.

4.  Support Topping Out’s Partner Organizations AIA Dallas, AIA Fort Worth, TEXO and TREC.  A portion of Topping Out proceeds go to Topping Out Partnership Program members for charitable based educational programs.

5.  Arrive early and visit Autumn at the Arboretum!  At the entrance gate of the Arboretum and Botanical Garden, let them know you are attending the Topping Out event.

The 2016 Topping Out Planning Committee is excited to announce a NEW Award for this years Awards Program.  The A/E/C Favorite Award has been designed to provide the A/E/C community attending the event on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 an opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite  2016 Submitted Project.

Those planning on attending the event and wishing to cast a vote should take a moment to review the Projects submitted for consideration.Project details will be provided to the attendees at the Awards and Networking event on November 9, 2016

The Topping Out Planning Committee is pleased to announce that Jack Matthews, CEO, Matthews Southwest has agreed to Chair the 13th Annual Topping Out Awards and Networking Event, which will be held at The Dallas Arboretum on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

Matthews Southwest has positively transformed our community with developments such as such as Southside on Lamar, NYLO Southside Hotel, Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel, the Tribute, and the historic Dallas High School.


Topping Out Announces Andrew Walker, Executive Director, Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Wort as additional member of the 2016 Topping Out Jury

The Topping Out Planning Committee is excited to announce that Andrew Walker has been able to clear his schedule and has joined the distinguished group of jurors who are judging this year’s TOP TEN Awards, and the Top Award for 2016.  The Amon Carter is currently experimenting with a “Placemaking” initiative in the museums grounds to more deeply engage the community, and has greatly benefited from consultation by the firm of, “Projects for Public Spaces.”
