A Letter from Paul Dennehy, AIA

As Chairman of the 2013 TXA Convention held here in Fort Worth, I want to thank the Convention Committee for their dedication to making this year’s Convention so successful. This Convention exceeded our overall attendance, student participation and revenue goals by providing the broadest range of sessions, tours and events ever offered at a Convention. Planning and execution broke from the vertical silo approach where committees focused on singular tasks with little awareness of other events to an approach of horizontal integration. The Committee worked closely with TXA staff and other TXA Committees including Continuing Education, Membership, Voice Com and Sponsorship to create unique linkages and opportunities to learn and explore architecture for students and professionals regardless of where they are on their career path.

I would also like to thank our membership and local firms, many of whom were presenters and/or guided tours of Fort Worth architecture. We actively sought to include sessions and to highlight the work of our Chapter members and firms because we have an important story to tell in Texas architecture. Our Chapter efforts did not go unnoticed as the feedback we received has been extremely positive. Our Chapters collective efforts have raised the bar for future TXA Conventions.

‘WELL DONE Fort Worth’
