Manager of Architecture – Franz Architects

Qualifications:

A Bachelor or Master of Science in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Building and Construction Technology or a similar degree

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Retail Commercial Architecture

Must have a thorough knowledge of architecture practice with emphasis on design, building materials, construction methods, integration of engineering disciplines, and building codes.

Must have strong leadership skills while managing a team of project managers, draftsmen, and architects

Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Strong project management skills with a history of successful interaction and coordination with staff and consultants

The ability to travel outside of the local area as necessary

Proficient in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office Applications

Skilled at organizing and managing project design teams

Enjoy working with people up and down the organization hierarchy

Significant project experience in some combination of Office Buildings, Mixed use, and Retail Buildings

High level of drive and collaborative spirit to help grow and develop staff members

Responsibilities:

Oversee plan production

Review and approve design team production drawings. Ensure drawings and specs are accurate, precise, meet design standards, and establish scope of work

Monitor the production of design drawings to ensure all relevant construction information is included throughout the design phases.

Manage distribution and production of project workload within the team

Represent the interest, concerns and problems of the office and ensure issues are addressed and resolved expeditiously.

In your role you will be expected to maintain positive client relationships with all projects assigned to your group.

Attend client meetings.

Works closely with Project Managers and President.

Will report directly to President and will be the primary client contact on the projects assigned to their team.

Develop a strategy for best practice integration, client satisfaction

Focus on relationship building

Provide leadership, inspiration and motivation to the design team to ensure the highest quality design documentation is produced and client satisfaction is achieved

Client development – build client trust and loyalty in Franz Architects and help development with new clients

The ideal candidate must be a team player with a positive influence and have the ability to inspire, motivate, collaborate with and develop others, as well as be an exceptional communicator both internally and externally
