ELEMENTS OF ARCHITECTURE, INC. (Elements) is a Fort Worth based commercial architecture firm looking for a Project Manager (PM) who can take ownership of projects and see them through every phase, from initial concept to final construction. Some of the more recent notable local projects involving Elements include the expansion of the Fort Worth Convention Center (acting as an owner’s representative for the City of Fort Worth); the renovation of 200 Texas Street (Old Fort Worth City Hall); the rehabilitation of the Pioneer Tower at Will Rogers Memorial Center; the Rockwood Golf Course Clubhouse; and the City of Irving’s Fleet Service Center.

Who You Are:

·       A licensed or nearly licensed architect (preferred, but not required)

·       5+ years of experience independently managing architectural projects

·       Highly proficient in client communications, consultant coordination, code research, construction

·       documents with the ability to produce project budgets and production schedules

·       Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and other basic software tools of the industry

·       Thorough knowledge of relevant government regulations, building codes, construction documents and

·       contract administration

·       Ability to serve as a role model and mentor for others and manage team development

·       Effectively utilize team member’s strengths and plans and monitors their career development

Aspen Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Architect to manage the design and production process for multi-million dollar ministry facility projects. This process includes coordinating consultant documents, leading client meetings, and overseeing the project team in the documentation of project deliverables. The ideal candidate has documented experience leading and mentoring project teams, has analytical problem-solving abilities, and is an extremely organized individual. This role requires exceptional leadership and a keen eye for detail.

 

  • Work with the Project Designer to coordinate the implementation of design intent into construction documents, specifications, and construction administration. Working with the Director of Design and Project Developer to develop and manage the project schedule, work with team and in-house Estimator to adhere to project construction budget and will oversee and manage the documentation process to ensure timely and profitable completion of the project.

  • Monitor and direct the design team to delegate project duties and ensure feasibility of produced designs, including the architectural staff assigned, external consultants and trade partners. Integrate and coordinate all disciplines into the building project. Lead client and internal team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues, and coordination.

  • Motivate and mentor the project design and development team to ensure timely and effective completion of projects, while also serving as a resource to leadership on practice issues, resource needs, and development.

  • Submit and obtain zoning and permit approval from Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

  • Conduct regular quality control checks on drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Address and resolve any design or documentation issues promptly and effectively.

  • Attend job site as required to stay current with construction progress and information related to duties during the construction phase of the project. Provide documentation for changes during construction phase and review and finalize submittals on a timely basis to ensure design intent is met

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited University

  • Registered Architect

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in an Architecture firm, 3 years leading projects.

  • Understanding of the church market preferred

  • Excellent communicator with relationship management skills.

  • Proven experience in producing high-quality construction drawings and managing complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of architectural detailing, building systems, and construction methods.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to resolve conflict effectively while simultaneously encouraging a healthy team environment.

 

We have offices in Frankfort, Illinois and Southlake, Texas and have a preference for this person to be located and work from one of those locations (hybrid schedule available), however, we are also open to a fully remote candidate for the right person.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Currently, Komatsu is seeking a Project Architect for our preservation studio.

This opportunity is for a full-time, in office or hybrid position. As a Project Architect, you will directly engage in project research, planning, design, development, and production daily in collaboration with the Director of Historic Preservation and production support staff. This position will work on primarily rehabilitation and restoration projects from master planning and programming through construction administration. Responsibilities will include working directly with clients and consultants, managing most design / technical aspects of a project, and daily collaboration and mentoring of junior team members. A successful candidate will be an organized self-starter, with clear communication skills and a collaborative outlook.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

·       Proficient skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite required

·       Experience with Newforma Project and Information Management software a plus

·       Previous experience in architectural project management of complex rehabilitation and restoration projects including development of all phases of planning, programming, design, construction documents, bidding, and contract administration

·       Perform architectural building surveys and condition assessments

·       Basic field documentation skills required, experience with LiDAR Scanning and/or drone operation a plus

·       Knowledge of historic and new building technologies

·       Competent research, writing, and/or editing skills, must be able to assist in preparation of a variety of studies and reports, including, but not limited to: existing conditions assessments, feasibility studies, code analysis, historic structure reports, and coordinate with in-house facility programming specialists.  

·       Review historic drawings and documents, historical research skills are a plus.

·       Lead the production of conceptual design packages and construction documents.

·       Coordinate and in some cases write specifications.

·       Ability to multi-task, create / maintain project work plans, schedules, and budgets

·       Ability to coordinate and manage engineering consultants, experience in collaborating with material conservators in the treatment of interior and exterior building components a plus

·       Proven ability to interact with clients and meet their expectations

·       Assist Project Managers with quality control, meeting documentation, and coordination.

·       Experience with the public review process and regulatory agencies, such as local commission / boards and state historic preservation offices (SHPOs)

·       Knowledge of building and life safety codes

·       Perform construction administration services (review submittals and requests for information, attend OAC meetings, complete and document site walks.)

·       Project experience with Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Buildings, Restoration and Rehabilitation focus

·       Collaboratively managing teams for large projects and working individually on smaller projects simultaneously.

·       Supervising/mentoring junior staff.

 

REQUIREMENTS

·       Licensed Architect, 8 -10 years of professional architectural experience preferred.

·       Bachelor’s degree or 5-year professional degree in Architecture is required. A professional master’s degree in architecture and/or certificate in Historic Preservation is a plus.

·       Travel required, primarily within Texas, U.S. and international travel a possibility

·       U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident, must possess a valid US Passport and Driver’s license and be able to obtain a security clearance to work on federal level projects

JOB DESCRIPTION

Currently, Komatsu is seeking a Project Architect to work on a wide range of municipal and institutional new construction projects.

This is an opportunity for a full time team/production position with a talented support staff. Komatsu Architecture is a mid-sized firm, with opportunities to experience working on projects from Programming through Construction Administration. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of projects, working directly with clients, while reporting directly to the Project Manager and/or principal-in-charge. As the role of Architect, you will directly engage in project development and production. Our firm size requires that this also be a direct project participation position, including technical and production skills.

 

This position requires team commitment and mentoring, and direct participation in document production, construction administration, and CA services (Komatsu project team participants follow projects from Programming through Construction Completion). We are not compartmented into separate project delivery functions. Coordination with in-house Interiors Group is essential, providing support in programming, interior architecture and comprehensive interior design services. Client and consultant direct coordination responsibilities requires people skills and communication. LEED accredited profession and/or PMP certification are desired.

 

REQUIREMENTS

·       Licensed Architect with a Bachelor’s degree or 5 yr professional degree in Architecture is required. A Master’s Degree in Architecture (a certificate focus on Historic Preservation) is a plus, but not essential

·       Technical skills in Revit

·       6+ years of architectural production experience preferred (Revit)

·       Previous experience in architectural projects of complex new design programs and rehabilitation or historic projects including development of all phases of planning (including master plans, programming, design, construction documents, bidding, and contract administration, including clear communication skills with clients, consultants, and contractors

·       Experience with the public review process, regulatory agencies, and as applicable (historic preservation reviewing entities (SHPOs) is a plus; local commissions and boards

·       Knowledge of building and life safety codes

·       Must be able to review and edit technical specifications

·       Must be able to prepare a variety of studies and reports, including, but not limited to: existing facility conditions assessments – FCA’s; feasibility studies; code analysis; (historic structure reports a plus); coordinate with in-house facility programming specialists


·       Detail oriented and have a technical understanding of the construction experience (demonstrated knowledge of the technical aspects of new design and building technologies, historic-age building techniques is important); mid-century design knowledge and technologies is a plus

·       Potential leadership, communications and organizational/people skills

·       Self-starter; Ability to multi-task, create and maintain project work plans, schedules, and budgets

·       Collaborative personality to excel in team situations is essential

·       Proven ability to interact with clients and meet their expectations
