Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the Facilities Planning Manager, the Facilities Planning Specialist is responsible for providing facilities planning for initiatives within the District to promote a physical environment that supports and enhances learning and teaching services. This position will interface with cross-functional teams that include administrators, faculty, staff, students, state agencies, the community, and the public.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Essential Performance Requirements*

 

• Validates and helps department set priorities of work, define initiatives, and prepare scope of work documents for cost estimating

• Assists customers with work requests and provides coordination to understand and define facilities related requirements and work status

• Coordinates with others to manage ongoing Facilities Condition Assessment program

• Interfaces and collaborates with external companies, peers, and administrative staff to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder agreement

• Creates presentations in areas of facilities development to external and internal audiences

• Assists in the development of educational requirements and specifications for district facilities and provides continuous assessment of district needs for new, expanded, or upgraded educational facilities

• Researches matters of importance and new trends; and serves as the primary interface between Real Estate and Facilities and Customers across the District

• Provides work input, control, and support to the Work Induction Board

• Reviews incoming work requests and determines the best Real Estate and Facilities execution method

• Reviews, evaluates, and recommends systemic processes, use of technology, and software to achieve higher efficiencies

 

Service Excellence

 

• Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements

• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite

• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)

• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College

• Supports the mission, values and 3 Goals and 8 Principles of the College

 

Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Facilities Planning Manager.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:

 

Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related experience

 

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:

 

• Degree in architecture, architectural project management, business, or construction

• Experience working in Planning and Design, operations, and strategic planning

• Experience working with AutoCAD, REVIT or Microstation software platforms
