A word from Robert Adams, AIA concerning Preston Geren, FAIA

Preston M. GerenThe name Geren and the word architecture are synonymous. To be an architect was to work for or with the Geren firm.  I had the good fortune to work with the firm for twenty-three years.  During that time, I spent many hours with Preston in the firm's Cessna "210 Papa Golf", flying to College Station (Texas A&M), San Marcos (Southwest Texas State), Huntsville (Sam Houston State), Midland (Petroleum Club) and numerous other jobs.  Preston would do the take off and landing but would have me fly the plane while he reviewed his mail, project records, etc.  This afforded us much time for memorable visits about the profession, our lives, and our families. We were family.  The Annual Geren Picnic was as important to the firm family as any holiday.  Preston knew how to assemble teams to accomplish goals for our clients, our community, and our profession and all are better because of Preston's involvement.Robert G.
